Columbia Missourian

I’ve worked for the Columbia Missourian, a community newspaper in Columbia, Missouri, on and off for several years.

I currently work as an editor on the interactive copy desk, meaning I line edit stories, fact check, write headlines and social media posts that aim to captivate an audience without wandering from the Missourian brand.

I’m also working with a team of other students to solve an outreach problem with the Columbia Missourian. We are in the process of creating an online strategy for its content to reach an audience of younger locals through online outreach. Currently, we are in the research phase. Check back in here for updates on our plan.

In Fall 2014, I worked as a reporter on the enterprise beat, covering everything from tomato festivals to salamander populations. I learned how to report with diligence and write in a way that is compelling and concise. You can find some works I’m proud of here, here and here. Or check out more of my written work at my contently profile here. Since then I’ve also worked on the Missourian’s graphics desk.
